The charging method comprises the steps of determining a currently-output charging voltage of a charging adaptor when the charging adaptor is used for charging a mobile terminal; judging whether the charging voltage is within a first preset range or not; gradually increasing an output charging current of the charging adaptor by taking a first preset current value as an incremental step value if the charging voltage is within the first preset range and when the charging adaptor is a standard charging adaptor; and monitoring an output voltage of the charging adaptor in real time, determining a rule according to the output voltage and a preset current, determining an upper limit value of the charging current, and charging the mobile terminal.
