Abstract

A capacitive fingerprint sensing device for noise detection and a method therein are disclosed. A capacitive fingerprint sensing device includes a plurality of sensing elements, each sensing element includes a sensing structure and is configured to sense capacitive coupling between the sensing structure and a finger. The capacitive fingerprint sensing device also includes a sensing circuit configured to provide a sensing signal indicative of capacitive coupling between the finger and the sensing structure. The capacitive fingerprint sensing device includes a timing circuit configured to control the timing of the drive signal. The fingerprint sensing device is controllable to operate in noise detection mode and in fingerprint mode. When the fingerprint sensing device operates in the noise detection mode, the fingerprint sensing device is configured to control the timing circuit such that the drive signal is provided.
