Abstract

The invention relates to a novel method for improving hydrophobicity of wood. The novel method comprises the following steps: 1. mixing ammonia water, ethanol and tetraethoxysilane, heating and magnetically stirring to obtain a transparent silica sol; 2. mixing triethoxyvinylsilane with the silica sol and magnetically stirring to obtain a composite wood modifier; 3. placing a wood substrate in a reaction tank, sealing and vacuumizing, and keeping negative pressure for 20min to 30min; 4. under the vacuum condition, injecting the composite wood modifier into the reaction tank, and vacuum-impregnating the wood while applying ultrasonic treatment for 2h to 2.5h; 5. releasing the vacuum degree and ultrasonic treatment, taking the wood and draining the composite wood modifier, drying in the air,and performing gradient heating and drying in an oven to obtain the novel hydrophobic wood.
