Abstract

The application discloses an automatic dispensing apparatus and method for Chinese medicinal herbs. The automatic dispensing apparatus comprises a plurality of medicine storage cells, a plurality of scales and a movable collecting unit. The medicine storage cells are used for storing different types of Chinese herbal medicine; the scales are used for weighing and selecting certain dosage of the Chinese herbal medicine stored in the different medicine storage cells according to need; the movable collecting unit can be moved to the positions of the scales to collect the selected Chinese herbal medicine in a certain dosage from at least a part of the scales. The Chinese herbal medicine weighed by the scales can be collected from different medicine storage cells by the mobile collecting unit,and thus, automatic dispensing of the Chinese herbal medicine is achieved in a time-saving and labor-saving manner while mistakes possibly caused by human factors are avoided.
