Abstract

The present invention provides an article transfer device capable of efficiently transferring articles between two conveyors arranged in series in the conveying direction using a robot. The article transfer device (1) comprises a first conveyor (10), a second conveyor (20), a robot (30), and a relative position changing mechanism (40). The first conveyor (10) and the second conveyor (20) convey the package (B) in the conveying direction. The second conveyor (20) is disposed on the downstream side in the conveying direction of the first conveyor (10) so as to be aligned with the first conveyor(10). The robot (30) transports the package (B) conveyed by the first conveyor (10) to the second conveyor (20). The relative position changing mechanism (40) changes the boundary between the first conveyor (10) and the second conveyor (20) in the conveying direction when the first conveyor (10) and the second conveyor (20) are viewed in plan, that is, the position of the conveyor boundary (50) and the relative position of the robot (30) in the conveying direction.
