Problems solved by technology

However, whether it is manual tooth arrangement or automatic digital tooth arrangement, the current tooth arrangement design is based on clinical medical experience, and still only stays in the geometric design stage
Therefore, doctors or designers cannot effectively understand and evaluate the effect of orthodontic appliances on patients' teeth when designing tooth arrangements

Abstract

The present application discloses a method for digitally simulating the orthodontic effect of a dental appliance. The method comprises: providing a digitized dental model representing the teeth of a patient, wherein the digitized dental model comprises mechanical parameters and morphological parameters of the teeth of the patient; providing a digitized dental appliance model representing the dental appliance, wherein the dental appliance corresponds to an intended orthodontic state, and the digitized dental appliance model comprises mechanical parameters and morphological parameters of the dental appliance; combining the digitized dental appliance model with the digitized dental model to simulate the dental appliance to be worn on the teeth of the patient; according to the mechanical parameters and the morphological parameters respectively included in the digitized dental appliance model and the digitized dental model, calculating the orthodontic change after the dental appliance is worn on the teeth of the patient; and according to the orthodontic change, evaluating the orthodontic effect of the digitized dental appliance model.

Description

technical field [0001] The technical field of orthodontics of the present application, more specifically, relates to a method for digitally simulating the orthodontic effect of a dental appliance. Background technique [0002] In order to carry out medical correction to the patient's teeth, a variety of orthodontic appliances have been developed. Compared with the traditional fixed bracket orthodontic technology, the new invisible orthodontic technology does not require brackets and steel wires, but uses a series of invisible aligners (also known as shell aligners). This invisible orthodontic appliance is made of high-performance elastic polymer materials that meet biocompatibility, so that the orthodontic process can be completed almost unnoticed by others, and will not affect daily life and social interaction. In addition, since patients can take off and wear them by themselves, oral hygiene can be maintained normally, and the whole treatment process saves time and effort...
