The maintenance system comprises multiple airborne system networks and a ground station system; each UAV has an airborne system network; and the airborne system network comprises a state monitoring sub-system, a cooperative UAV link transmission sub-system and an air-to-ground transmissionsub-system. The invention further relates to a maintenance method based on the security and the reliability of the cooperative UAVs. The system can monitor the health state of each UAV in the cooperative UAVs online in real time, and also can make a reasonable maintenance safeguard according to the health state of the UAV. Simultaneously, due to use of an ATG technology, transmission of maintenance safeguard system information does not influence communication between the UAV and the ground.
