The method comprises the following steps of sending, by a panoramic camera, the panoramic video to an image data caching unit after the panoramic video is shot and obtained; dividing, by the image data caching unit, the panoramic video into multiple viewpoint video sequences through an encoder according to aviewpoint division rule; encoding each viewpoint video sequence, to obtain multiple groups of encoded data; decoding, by a user device, the encoded data through a decoder, and playing the viewpoint video sequences obtained by decoding. The system comprises the panoramic camera, a communication unit and the user device. The method not only can be used for accurately judging the movement trend of auser, but also can be used for guaranteeing to decode, in real time, the panoramic video corresponding to an FOV (Field of View) in an effective viewpoint range in front of a viewpoint according to apretreatment unit, and the decoding expense is decreased.
