Embodiment Construction

[0021] The techniques and systems described herein provide assisted onboarding for client organizations by identifying onboarding tasks that, when implemented, move the client organization from a current environment using client-controlled resources to a target environment using network resources. Loading information that has been gathered from previous loading processes can be used to identify loading tasks and the order in which they are executed. Accordingly, the techniques and systems described herein are configured to monitor a large number of loading processes and store loading information related to the monitored loading processes. Thus, historical knowledge indicating which actions have successfully and / or unsuccessfully completed tasks can be used to improve future onboarding processes and ensure continued customer engagement with the onboarding process. For example, the techniques and systems described herein are capable of determining: individual tasks that a client...

Abstract

This document describes techniques and systems for onboarding services from a customer-managed computing infrastructure to a networked computing infrastructure. As part of loading, a database storing loading information is accessed, and a set of tasks is identified. A state diagram is generated based on loading information. The techniques and systems are configured to compute tasks within a state map associated with the highest probability of successfully moving a customer organization from a current environment associated with a customer-managed computing infrastructure to a target environment associated with a networked computing infrastructure execution path. The task execution path can be used to identify and provide a subset of tasks as part of the auto-bootloading process. The task execution path may be recalculated based on a determination that the individual task was not completed within an expected amount of time to complete the individual task.

Description

Background technique [0001] More and more organizations are currently switching from using their own computing infrastructure to using network computing infrastructure operated and managed by a service provider (eg, a third-party service provider). For example, companies often employ agents (eg, information technology (IT) administrators) to set up and manage the company's own on-premise servers that host e-mail services or other services for the company's employees. Today, however, it can be more cost-effective for the service provider to host the service using network computing infrastructure. [0002] Onboarding refers to the processes and / or mechanisms that help client organizations (eg, also referred to as customers or tenants) set up services on a network computing infrastructure operated and managed by a service provider. In many instances, setting up the service on the network computing infrastructure includes moving at least a portion of the service from the client o...
