Embodiments of the invention disclose a method and device for state conversion of an electronic device. According to one specific embodiment, the method includes the steps: acquiring an image sequenceof a target user from a camera of the electronic device; performing the following determining step for the image in the image sequence: extracting face feature point information of the image; determining the size of a face region in the image according to the extracted face feature point information; determining that the size of the face region in the image is greater than or equal to a preset size, determining the offset of a face corresponding to the image and storing the offset in an offset set in response to a condition that the size of the face region in the image is greater than or equal to the preset size, wherein the offset is used to represent the horizontal offset of the face relative to the camera; determining the distance between a target user and the camera, and storing the distance in a distance set; and converting the state of the electronic device based on the offset set and the distance set. According to the embodiment, the method realizes real-time monitoring of thestate of the target user and conversion processing of the state of the electronic device.
