The invention discloses a state of charge (SOC) correction method based on an automatic generation control (AGC) frequency modulation energy storage system. The method comprises the steps that each battery management system acquires SOC offset of the battery management system; each battery management system sends the SOC offset to centralized control equipment through an energy storage converter corresponding to the battery management system; the centralized control equipment determines whether at least one SOC offset exceeding a preset SOC threshold exists; if yes, the centralized control equipment ranks SOC offsets, so as to obtain maximum SOC offset; the centralized control equipment sends a correction control instruction to a target battery management system corresponding to the maximum SOC offset through the energy storage converter; the target battery management system executes the correction control instruction so as to enter a correction mode; the target battery management system executes a preset automatic correction policy in the correction mode, so as to perform full charge or full discharge calibration; and after calibration, the target battery management system exits the correction mode.
