The method comprises: receiving a request for adding a social contact submitted by a first social user through the user equipment, wherein the request for adding a social contact comprises a target image; matching and querying in a social information base according to face information in the target image to determine a second social user matching the face information; establishing a social relationship between the first social user and the second social user according to account information of the second social user. Compared with the prior art, the present application solves the problem that a user can still establish social contact with the other party when he or she does not know the social information of the social contact person to be added.
