Benefits of technology

This new design improves upon existing designs for delivering medical implants such as catheters or stents within blood vessels without causing discomfort or injury. It includes various features like lubrication systems, coatings, mechanisms for adjustment overall, making it easier than previous versions to work smoothly through narrow passages inside these devices while also controllably reducing their size. Overall, this technology makes surgery safer and more effective at treatments involving blood vessel disease.

Problems solved by technology

The technical problem addressed by this patents is that current PVNs use an elliptic curve tip design, but it poses challenges during their insertion procedure due to its poor ability to return back towards original shapes after being inserted into the patient's tissue. This results in increased risk of complications such as fracture when inserting the catheter without causing damage.

Abstract

The invention discloses a novel bone filler delivery system, which comprises an operating passage and a delivery component. The operating passage comprises an operating cannula and a cannula handle, and the delivery component comprises a delivery tube, a delivery tube handle and an outer sleeve mechanism. The outer sleeve mechanism is in a rigid structure and slidably sleeves the delivery tube. When the outer sleeve mechanism is positioned at a far end of the delivery tube, a deformable section of the delivery tube is in a straight state; when the outer sleeve mechanism is positioned at a nearend of the delivery tube, the deformation section of the delivery tube is in a curved state. In addition, the tail end of the outer sleeve mechanism and the cannula handle can be detachably assembled, the delivery tube can be inserted into the operating cannula through the cannula handle, and the deformable section of the delivery tube is capable of extending out from the tail end of the operating cannula. The novel bone filler delivery system can be applied to minimally invasive surgeries such as percutaneous vertebroplasty, a bent portion of the delivery tube can be smoothly sent into the vertebra by a doctor, and the delivery component can be quickly and conveniently withdrawn after injection of bone filler.
