Abstract

Provided in the present disclosure are a network connection method and device. The method is applicable to a base station, and comprises: receiving a connection resume request message sent by a terminal; performing, according to the connection resume request message, examination to obtain at least one valid rejection reason; and sending to the terminal a connection resume rejection message carrying a reason value indicating the rejection reason. In this way, the present disclosure can prevent the situation in which a terminal cannot perform an appropriate operation because the terminal cannotinterpret the rejection of a base station, thus improving security of a network connection, and reducing power consumption of the terminal.
