The feed additive comprises the following raw materials in parts by weight: vitamin U0.9-1.5 parts, sodium sulfate 33-79.8 parts, high-temperature hydrolyzed enzymolyzed feather powder 18-30 parts, astaxanthin 0.9-1.5 parts, glucosamine 0.9-1.5 parts, and glucose 49.5-82.5 parts. According to the invention, the complete formula feed is a special feed prepared based on the biological characteristics of helmeted guineafowl, such as natural moulting and feather regeneration ability,and based on artificial drawing of live helmeted guineafowl feathers. In the complete formula feed, corn, soybean meal, stone powder, calcium hydrogen phosphate and a premix are taken as main raw materials of feed, and thus the energy and nutrient requirements of helmeted guineafowl can be met; and the vitamin U, sodium sulfate, high-temperature hydrolyzed enzymolyzed feather powder, astaxanthin,glucosamine, glucose and the like are combined as additives, and thus feather growth of helmeted guineafowl can be significantly promoted and normal physiological functions of helmeted guineafowl areensured.
