The arc extinguishing structure for the relay includes aplurality of reeds vertically mounted on the top surface of the bottom plate of the relay, wherein the sheet-like portions at one ends of the respective reeds extend in a set direction at intervals; and a magnet mounted on the bottom plate and adjacent to the plurality of reeds such that a magnetic field formed by the magnet passes through one ends of the respective reeds in a direction perpendicular to the top surface of the bottom plate. The Lorentz force formed by the magnet is configured to lengthen an arc formed between the reeds until the arc is extinguished, so as to quickly extinguishthe arc and reduce the damage of heat to an electromagnetic system during the operation of the small relay, thereby prolonging the service life of the relay and improving the capability of the relay of resisting overload.
