Embodiment Construction

[0039] A more detailed description of various concepts related to methods, apparatus and systems for cooling internal combustion engines and embodiments of methods, apparatus and systems for cooling internal combustion engines follows next. The various concepts introduced above and discussed in greater detail below can be implemented in any of a number of ways, as the described concepts are not limited to any particular manner of implementation. Examples of specific implementations and applications are provided primarily for illustrative purposes.

[0040] I. Overview

[0041] Internal combustion engines use combustion to generate mechanical energy. These combustions also generate heat. As a result, the internal combustion engine heats up during operation. Typically, internal combustion engines are not able to operate ideally at high temperatures. Accordingly, internal combustion engines contain mechanisms for managing the heat generated by combustion in order to maintain ...

Abstract

The invention relates to a system and method for cooling an internal combustion engine. An internal combustion engine system comprises a steam cylinder body, a steam cylinder cover and a sleeve. The steam cylinder cover is connected to the steam cylinder body. The sleeve is constructed to enable a cooling agent to be circulated in the steam cylinder body and the steam cylinder cover. The sleeve comprises a cylinder body sleeve body and a cover sleeve body. The cylinder body sleeve body is located in the steam cylinder body. The cylinder body sleeve body comprises a manifold, a first distributor, a first distributor first ring, a first distributor second ring, a first conveyor and a second conveyor. The manifold is constructed to contain the cooling agent. The manifold comprises a first branch. The first distributor is connected to the first branch. The first distributor is constructed to contain the cooling agent from the first branch. The first distributor comprises at least one of a first distributor first outlet and a first distributor second outlet. The first distributor first ring is connected to the first distributor.

Description

technical field [0001] The present application relates generally to the field of internal combustion engines. Background technique [0002] An internal combustion engine consumes fuel in at least one combustion process, thereby producing energy that is output (eg, to a crankshaft, etc.) by the internal combustion engine. Some of this energy is heat dissipated from the combustion chamber within the internal combustion engine to other components of the internal combustion engine. When the internal combustion engine reaches a temperature above a threshold, the internal combustion engine may no longer operate optimally. Accordingly, internal combustion engines typically incorporate means for cooling the internal combustion engine so as to mitigate the effects of heat generated by at least one combustion process. [0003] Many internal combustion engines utilize a radiator to cool the internal combustion engine. The coolant circulates from the radiator to the internal combusti...
