[0059] In the following description of the examples, reference is made to the accompanying drawings, in which are shown by way of illustrations specific examples that may be practiced. It is to be understood that other examples may be utilized and structural changes may be made without departing from the scope of the respective examples.

[0060] Although the following description uses the terms 'first', 'second', etc. to describe various elements, these elements should not be limited by the terms. These terms are only used to distinguish one element from another. For example, a first input could be termed a second input, and, similarly, a second input could be termed a first input, without departing from the scope of the various described examples. The first input and the second input are both inputs, and in some cases separate and distinct inputs.

[0061] The terminology used in describing the various described examples herein is for the purpose of describing particular e...

Abstract

The invention is entitled accelerated task performance. The invention provides systems and processes for accelerating task performance. An example method includes, at an electronic device including adisplay and one or more input devices, displaying, on the display, a user interface including a suggestion affordance associated with a task; detecting, via the one or more input devices, a first userinput corresponding to a selection of the suggestion affordance, in response to detecting the first user input: in accordance with a determination that the task is a task of a first type, performingthe task; and in accordance with a determination that the task is a task of a second type different than the first type, displaying a confirmation interface including a confirmation affordance.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention relates generally to digital assistants, and more particularly to accelerating task performance using digital assistants. Background technique [0002] Intelligent automated assistants (or digital assistants) can provide a favorable interface between human users and electronic devices. Such assistants may allow users to interact with a device or system using natural language, either by voice and / or text. For example, a user may provide voice input containing user requests to a digital assistant running on an electronic device. The digital assistant can interpret the user's intent from this voice input, operationalize the user's intent into a task, and perform the task. In some systems, performing a task in this manner may be constrained in a manner that identifies the task. However, in some cases, a user may be restricted to a specific set of commands, such that the user cannot easily instruct the digital assistant to perform t...
