The method comprises the steps of obtaining historical operation data of a to-be-predicted equipment; training a deep belief network by adopting historical operation data to obtain a trained deep belief network; obtaining current operation data of the to-be-predicted equipment; performing feature extraction on the current operation data by adopting the trained deep belief network to obtain a feature set; performing local linear embedding operation on the feature set to obtain a health factor; based on the diffusion process, obtaining a relation model of health factors and time; predicting the residual life of the to-be-predicted equipment according to the relation model of the health factor and the time; and determining probability density distribution of the residual life of the to-be-predicted equipment according to the residual life of the to-be-predicted equipment. The method and the system are suitable for quantitative prediction of the residual life on the basis of mass data analysis.
