Problems solved by technology

[0006] The challenge in creating a child-resistant container is making it easy enough for seniors and other individuals to use
For example, some child-resistant containers offer screw-top or easy-pull closures, and while they are effective for child-proofing, these devices cause a degree of difficulty for individuals with inflammatory or arthritic wrist and finger joints
[0007] Currently available child-resistant containers also often do not adequately protect the contents from degradation when exposed to environmental factors such as humidity, temperature, bacteria or air
[0008] Additionally, most screw cap drug containers lack exterior features that facilitate counting, sorting, stacking, and efficient inventory management

Embodiment Construction

[0082] The present invention relates to a modular container system including a tray frame, a tray insert, and / or a child-resistant container. Aspects of the present disclosure also include storage systems and inventory systems. Other aspects include methods of using the child-resistant container (eg, to create child-resistant and to store or preserve materials). The modular container system can be more readily understood by reference to the following detailed description of the invention. Those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications may be made without departing from the scope of the invention.

[0083] As used in the specification and the appended claims, the singular forms "a", "an" and "the" include plural referents unless the context clearly dictates otherwise. Thus, for example, reference to "an element" includes two or more elements.

Abstract

Disclosed herein are modular container systems having child-resistant containers, tray inserts and tray frames. Also disclosed are methods using the modular container systems and methods of storing substances in containers. The containers have a container base and a container cap and provide for child-resistant containers. A user can releasably remove the container cap from container base with a squeeze and lift sequence. For example, the user squeezes opposite sides of the container base, which releases a locking mechanism and allows for removal of the cap by lifting or pulling the containercap off from the container base. The components of the modular container system are modular and stackable. The modular system allow for organized, efficient, accessible and storage of the child-resistant containers. The modular container system also allows for easy counting, sorting and processing of the containers.

Description

[0001] Cross References to Related Patent Applications [0002] This U.S. nonprovisional patent application claims priority to U.S. Provisional No. 62 / 492,678, filed May 1, 2017, entitled "Storage Container, Stackable Storage System Comprising The Same And Inventory Method For Using The Same," the entire contents of which are adopted by Incorporated into this application by reference. technical field [0003] The present disclosure relates to modular container systems for storage and inventory systems, including child-resistant containers and methods of using the containers. Background technique [0004] Containers used for the storage of substances or materials that may be harmful to children are designed to prevent opening by children, but can be manipulated by adults, including the elderly, to obtain the substance. These "child-resistant" containers are often used for over-the-counter and prescription drugs. Other child-resistant containers are used for other household ...
