Preparation and characterization of formulations in a high throughput mode

The invention is an automated robotic system for the production and testing of formulations at a very high throughput. It is an integrated system of hardware and software capable of preparing and evaluating hundreds of emulsions per day. The system can formulate aqueous solutions (SL), oil in water emulsions (EW), suspo-emulsions (SE), micro capsule suspensions (CS), micro-emulsions (ME), and suspension concentrates (SC) at the 1 ml to 25 ml scale. The system can process emulsions rapidly in an automated way and enable very flexible formulation recipes to be introduced. The system allows chemists to generate experimental samples of varying recipe and method to be conducted in parallel with projected throughput of up to 1200 formulations processed and characterized per day. Materials and consumables can be distributed from storage storage systems to the work stations where dispensing of ingredients in various states can be performed, including solids, liquids, gels, pastes, suspensions and waxes. The emulsions formed can be characterized using methods including phase diagnosis, turbidity analysis, viscosity and particle sizing using automated test equipment. An integrated module can also perform Tank Mix Compatibility testing in high throughput mode. The modular system allows future processes and tests to be added, either to a station, or as a new station. The software capability includes tracking of processes from start to finish and the integration of analytical data with the as-designed and as-formulated experimental results.

Adhesive backed displays

A process for creating an electronically addressable display includes multiple printing operations, similar to a multi-color process in conventional screen printing. In some of the process steps, electrically non-active inks are printed onto areas of the receiving substrate, and in other steps, electrically active inks are printed onto different areas of the substrate. The printed display can be used in a variety of applications. This display can be used as an indicator by changing state of the display after a certain time has elapsed, or when a certain pressure, thermal, radiative, moisture, acoustic, inclination, pH, or other threshold is passed. In one embodiment, the display is incorporated into a battery indicator. A sticker display is described. The sticker is adhesive backed and may then be applied to a surface to create a functional information display unit. This invention also features a display that is both powered and controlled using radio frequencies. It describes a complete system for controlling, addressing, and powering a display. The system includes an antenna or antennae, passive charging circuitry, and active control system, a display, and an energy storage unit. There is also a separate transmitter that provides the remote power for the display. The system is meant to be used anywhere it is useful to provide intermittent updates of information such as in a store, on a highway, or in an airport. A tile-based display allowing a modular system for large area display is created using a printable display material.

Distribution network automatic system based on broadband wireless communication and realization method thereof

The invention provides a distribution network automatic system based on broadband wireless communication and a realization method thereof. The distribution network automatic system comprises a distribution transformer data collecting and monitoring device, a broadband wireless communication network and a monitoring center, wherein the distribution transformer data collecting and monitoring device is arranged in a transformer site for collecting and processing electric power parameters, transmitting data to the monitoring center by the broadband wireless communication network so as to responds to a control command sent by the monitoring center. In the realization method, the distribution transformer data collecting and monitoring device is connected with the monitoring center by the wireless communication network, a protocol in coincidence with electric power 101 protocol for the data transmission is set; and the distribution transform data collecting and monitoring device collects and processes the existing distribution transform parameters of the distribution transformer and responds to the control command from the monitoring center. The invention adopts a modular system architecture design, has upward and downward compatibility, and can realize various wireless broadband module communication services; in addition, the design of stipulations of an agreement of the monitoring center is based on the electric power 101 protocol and is compatible with protocols realizing different versions.
