Abstract

The invention discloses a method and system for distributing cells of a sorting device. The method comprises following steps: associating the symbol of a sorting device in a database with the symbol of a first container of a first article of a stored purchase order, wherein the purchase order comprises a second article stored in a second container; before the sorting device is associated with thesecond container, receiving the symbol of the first article; in the database, using the symbol of the first article to determine whether any one of the cells of the sorting device is associated with the purchase order or not; when no cell of the sorting device is associated with the purchase order, associating the symbol of the cells of the sorting device with the symbol of the purchase order; andsending a first signal indicating that the first article is placed in the cells to a computer associated with a worker.
