Abstract

The invention relates to powertrain mount assemblies. Provided is a powertrain mounting assembly 200 for motor vehicle, comprising first 110 and second 120 brackets and tether 130. The first bracket 110 is coupled to the powertrain component 222 of the vehicle, and the second bracket 120 is coupled to a support frame member 212 of the vehicle. The powertrain component 222 is mounted on the supportframe member 212 by coupling first 110 and second 120 brackets together. Tether 130, which prevents power train component 222 and support frame member 212 from moving relative to each other during acollision, has first 130a and second 130b ends which are coupled to the first bracket 110 and second bracket 120 / support frame member 212 respectively.. Also disclosed is a method for manufacturing the powertrain mount assemblies.
