When a normal rebreathing cycle is identified, the controller controls the fan unit in a first mode synchronized with rebreathing. However, when a disturbed breathing cycle is identified, the controller controls the fan arrangement in a second mode that is not synchronized with the timing of inhalation and exhalation.
