[0055] In some wireless communication systems, a base station may transmit control information on the downlink to a user equipment (UE) or group of UEs. A UE may use downlink control information (DCI) to support communication with a base station. The base station may configure a set of search spaces for these DCI transmissions based on control channel candidates (eg, PDCCH candidates) at one or more aggregation levels. When configuring a search space set, the base station may determine a control resource set (CORESET) including the search space set. The CORESET may include several Control Channel Elements (CCEs), and the set of search spaces may be mapped to CCE spaces corresponding to the CCE subsets of the CORESET. The base station can identify the control channel candidates to allocate for the set of search spaces at each aggregation level, and can assign the positions of the control channel candidates within the CCE space according to a hash function. The UE can recogniz...
