Embodiment Construction

[0055] In some wireless communication systems, a base station may transmit control information on the downlink to a user equipment (UE) or group of UEs. A UE may use downlink control information (DCI) to support communication with a base station. The base station may configure a set of search spaces for these DCI transmissions based on control channel candidates (eg, PDCCH candidates) at one or more aggregation levels. When configuring a search space set, the base station may determine a control resource set (CORESET) including the search space set. The CORESET may include several Control Channel Elements (CCEs), and the set of search spaces may be mapped to CCE spaces corresponding to the CCE subsets of the CORESET. The base station can identify the control channel candidates to allocate for the set of search spaces at each aggregation level, and can assign the positions of the control channel candidates within the CCE space according to a hash function. The UE can recogniz...

Abstract

Improved methods, systems, devices, or apparatuses that support search space design are described. The described techniques enhance the number and utility of applied control channel candidates in thepresence of blind decoding and control channel element (CCE) channel estimation limitations. The techniques allocate available blind decodes using a nested mapping scheme over one or more dimensions, based on a prioritization. In some other cases, the number of blind decodes may be allocated, either uniformly, or proportionally, between the plurality of search space set occasions. In some cases, the applied control channel candidates may be determined by dropping control channel candidates along one or more dimensions (e.g., search space set, or search space set occasion), until the blind decoding limitation or CE limitation is satisfied.

Description

[0001] cross reference [0002] This patent application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Patent Application No. 62 / 654,096, filed April 06, 2018, by Xu et al., entitled "Search SpaceDesign with Overbooking," and filed April 02, 2019 by Xu et al. Interest in US Patent Application No. 16 / 373,475 filed, entitled "Search Space Design with Overbooking"; each of which is assigned to the assignee of the present application. technical field [0003] The following relates to wireless communications in general, and specifically to search space design with respect to oversubscription. Background technique [0004] Wireless communication systems are widely deployed to provide various types of communication content such as voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, and so on. These systems are capable of supporting communication with multiple users by sharing available system resources (eg, time, frequency, and power). Examples of such multiple-access systems include fourth...
