Abstract

The invention provides the text line character segmentation methodand device based on projection. The method determines the actual width and height of a single character through horizontal projection and vertical projection, and the method is accurate in judgment of the upper and lower boundaries of the character and is high in robustness; through inclined font correction, the application range of character segmentation is expanded. Character projection data are subjected to weighted summation by adopting a gray image vertical projection curve, a binary image vertical projection curve and an edge intensity difference variance projection curve; the accuracyand reliability of character boundary judgment are improved, accurate and rapid character segmentation is facilitated, and segmentation of lightly adhered characters and adhered special characters isalso effective.
