[0029]When encountering a high-loss zone, a large amount of drilling fluid may be lost into the geological formation with the rapid drop of the fluid column in the wellbore. A drop in the fluid column can trigger a variety of drilling problems, such as pipe sticking, wellbore instability, kicks or blowouts, all of which can lead to sidetracking or abandonment of the well. As the delay in controlling the loss of circulating fluid increases, so does the likelihood of causing various drilling problems. Loss of drilling fluid can be mitigated by the use of lost circulation materials (LCMs) when high-loss zones are encountered during drilling operations. The LCM may include particulates or hydration fluids for plugging high-loss zones. Abstract

An intelligent system for circulating LCM may implement a method. While the borehole is being drilled in the geological formation, drilling parameters are received for identifying wellbore drilling conditions of a wellbore drilling system drilling the wellbore. The wellbore drilling system flows a wellbore drilling fluid comprising particles of varying size distributions. Microparticles are used as LCMs to reduce the loss of wellbore drilling fluids in geological formations. A particle size distribution of particles in a wellbore drilling fluid that is received through a plurality of different wellbore fluid flow paths of a wellbore drilling system. The particle size distribution represents the concentration of particulates in the wellbore drilling fluid.
