The longitudinal and oblique polishing method comprises the following steps: selecting the abrasive cloth flap wheel of certain specification, measuring an expanding radius under a working rotation speed, determining a working radius range of the abrasive cloth flap wheel according to an originalradius and the expanding radius; determining a polishing way of the abrasive cloth flap wheel according to an included angle formed by a tool axis direction of the abrasive cloth flap wheel and a feeding direction; and controlling polishing feed according to a contact row brand width. The method disclosed by the invention adopts a longitudinal or oblique polishing way, avoids large-scale superposition of an abrasive particle cutting area, and improves removal uniformity of materials in a direction perpendicular to a motion direction of the abrasive particles. The biggest polishing feed is controlled according to the contact row band width, so that generation of ripples on the polished surface is avoided; and compared with conditional transverse polishing, the method greatly improves polishing effect.
