[Solution] This disposable diaper (10) has: an absorbent core (31); a skin surface-side sheet (20) located more towards a skin-facing surface side than the absorbent core; and a waist band (80) which is in a rear waist region (S2)and located more towards the skin-facing surface side than the skin surface-side sheet and which stretches / contracts in the width direction of the diaper. The waist band has: an upright section (85) capable of standing upright with respect to the skin surface-side sheet; a first base end edge (87I) serving as the standing fulcrum of the upright section at a position outside the upright section andthe absorbent core in the width direction; and a second base end edge (84F) serving as the standing fulcrum of the upright section at a position more towards a waist opening side than the upright section.
