Abstract
A method of manufacturing a base web convertible into a disposable pant article and a pant article, comprising: feeding a continuous base web in a machine direction, with the base web having first and second side edges; attaching the continuous waistband component to the base web at an attachment region; severing the base web and the attached elastic waistband component by cutting along a cutting line extending through the attachment region to produce a first panel web comprising a first panel portion and a first waistband portion and a second panel web comprising a second panel portion and a second waistband portion, wherein the first and second panel webs extend in the machine direction in a state where the first and second waistband portions face each other in a side-by-side arrangement; moving positions of the first and second sheet webs in the transverse direction to bring the first and second sheet webs into an arrangement in which the first and second cutting edges face away from each other in the transverse direction and the first and second side edges face each other in the transverse direction; directly or indirectly connecting the first side edges of the first sheet webs to the second side edges of the second sheet webs to form a coherent base web.
