Abstract

A system and method for detecting an abnormal stability of a passenger in a vehicle. A system for detecting and addressing anomalous stabilisation events in a vehicle includes an image sensor and a processing system. The processing system is configured to receive image data from the image sensor when a passenger begins to enter the vehicle; processing the image data to determine a location of the at least one passenger in the cabin; detecting that the at least one passenger is located outside the one or more seats of the vehicle based on the determined position of the at least one passenger in the cabin after a first predetermined period of time has elapsed since the passenger begins to enter the vehicle; and operating at least one component of the vehicle in a predefined manner in response to detecting that the at least one passenger is outside the one or more seats after the first predetermined period of time has elapsed.
