Problems solved by technology

However, it has been found that the possible contact between the protuberance and the cutting element in the event of a cutting chain droop (Durchhang, sometimes referred to as slack or sag) causes an increased mechanical load on the connecting bolt and thus shortens the cutting chain life

[0043] figure 1 Shown is a rock cutter 1 for cutting metallic or mineral material such as concrete or steel. The rock cutter 1 has a housing 2 to which a rear handle 3 is fastened and a handle 5 for actuating the rock cutter 1 during operation, on which an operating element 4 is arranged, for example an acceleration lever and accelerator lever locker. A guide rail 7 is fastened to the housing 2 , which projects forward on the side of the housing 2 opposite the rear handle 3 . A cutting chain 10 is arranged circumferentially on the guide rail 7 . A hand protector 6 is arranged on the side of the grip tube 5 facing the guide rail 7 . Arranged in the housing 2 is a drive motor 40 which drives the cutting chain 10 in the direction of travel 13 around the guide rail 7 . The drive motor 40 is advantageously a single cylinder engine. The drive motor 40 can be an internal combustion engine, in particular a two-stroke engine or a hybrid four-stroke engine. However, it can also be...

Abstract

The invention relates to a cutting chain for cutting mineral or metallic materials, in particular a cutting chain for cutting mineral or metallic materials, having a central drive part and side parts arranged in pairs, which are connected to one another in an articulated manner about a pivot axis. The cutting chain has at least two cutting elements arranged one behind the other in the running direction, each cutting element consisting of a pair of two side parts and a cutting element for removing abrasive material connecting the pair of side parts to each other. The drive part has a projection which extends between two cutting elements arranged one behind the other in the running direction. According to the invention, the cutting chain has at least one recess which is arranged and constructed in such a way that the maximum sag of the cutting chain in contact at the cutting element and the projection is increased relative to the same cutting chain without the recess.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a cutting chain for cutting mineral or metallic materials. Background technique [0002] A cutting chain for cutting mineral or metallic materials is known from DE 10 2012 010 978 A1. A cutting element is provided for material removal. A corresponding elevation is provided at the front and rear relative to each cutting element, wherein each elevation is arranged on a drive element (Treibglied, sometimes referred to as a transmission element). [0003] The length of the cutting element is limited by the required distance from the front and rear elevations. For the quiet running of the chain on the workpiece, it is desirable to have as small a distance as possible between the cutting element or the supporting section of the connecting part and the elevation. However, it has been found that the possible contact between the protuberance and the cutting element in the event of a cutting chain droop (Durchhang, sometimes referred ...
