Abstract

Using various embodiments, methods and systems for determining visibility metrics for multi-dimensional objects in a multi-dimensional digital environment are described. In one embodiment, a system is configured to render a viewport of a multi-dimensional digital environment displayed on a graphical user interface. The viewport includes an object of interest. The object of interest includes a multi-dimensional digital object. An object of interest is rendered with a first set of colors. The system is further configured to determine a first number of pixels representing a total number of pixels in the first color set, and determine a second number of pixels in the viewport representing the total number of pixels of the viewport. Thereafter, a ratio is calculated by dividing the first number of pixels by the second number of pixels. A visibility metric is then derived from the calculated ratio.

Description

technical field [0001] Embodiments of the invention generally relate to data collection for analysis purposes in computer-generated (or simulated) multi-dimensional digital environments. More specifically, embodiments of the invention relate to determining metrics for the visibility of multidimensional digital objects in a multidimensional digital environment. Background technique [0002] Multidimensional computer-generated or simulated environments are utilized in many different fields that use computer-aided visualization techniques. Examples may include industries related to gaming, medical, training, finance, advertising, real estate, or any field that involves the use of virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality, three-dimensional digital objects. Important aspects of any of the identified areas above may include collecting data based on the visibility of multidimensional digital objects residing in a multidimensional digital environment. However, currently k...
