Abstract

A locked linear actuator, a thrust reverser for an aircraft including a locked linear actuator, and a method of manufacturing a locked linear actuator. The disclosed locked linear actuator includes an actuator housing that defines a bore that receives an actuator piston and a locking sleeve. A portion of the actuator piston defines a locking aperture that receives a radially movable locking tab. When the actuator is retracted, the locking tab engages a step in the surface of the bore to lock the linear actuator, and a distal portion of the locking sleeve extends into a portion of the actuator piston to prevent the locking tab from disengaging from the step in the surface of the bore.
