Embodiment Construction

[0040] Particular embodiments of the present invention may provide a solution to provide a tunable detector for detecting linearly chirped radar signals in Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) based systems. Specifically, since the chirp signal characteristic does not exist in OFDMA-based devices, in frequency bands where two systems should coexist without interfering with each other, the optimal chirp detection algorithm effectively filters out all similar Chirp signals from signaling devices such as radar.

[0041] According to certain embodiments described herein, a method is provided to facilitate an easily tunable detection algorithm for estimation and detection of linear chirp, wherein the computational complexity in the algorithm is scalable and thus comparable to existing There are market solutions that can be more efficient. The latter is made possible by sampling the received time-domain linear chirp and by requiring only a discrete Fourier transfor...

Abstract

According to certain embodiments, a method by a network node for linear chirp detection includes obtaining a first number, N, of samples of a signal. The samples are divided into at least a first group and a second group, where the first group includes a second number, D, of the samples of the signal and the second group includes a third number, N-D, of the samples of the signal. A correlation is performed between the first group of samples and the second group of samples to generate a resultant group of samples of the signal. Within the resultant group of samples, a peak value is identified in the frequency domain. Based on at least one property associated with the peak value, it is determined whether there is a linear chirp within the signal.

Description

Background technique [0001] As the 2.4 GHz band becomes more crowded, many users opt to use the 5 GHz band. Not only does this provide more spectrum, but the 5 GHz band is not widely used by WiFi and many appliances, including things like microwave ovens for example. [0002] In many countries, regulatory requirements may limit the number of 5 GHz channels available, or impose additional restrictions on their use, as spectrum is shared with other technologies and services. For example, for parts of frequency band 46, there are regional requirements aimed at protecting radars from interference by other users of the spectrum. [0003] DFS (Dynamic Frequency Selection) is a mechanism that allows devices to coexist with radar systems. DFS automatically selects frequencies that do not interfere with the radar system. DFS allows you to use more channels. DFS includes radar detection and frequency selection without radar. [0004] Since the coexistence between LTE and radar appl...
