Abstract

The invention discloses application of a glycerol trinitrate and disodium fumarate composition in preparation of a ruminant rumen methane inhibition and fermentation regulating agent. The invention also discloses application of the combination of glycerol trinitrate and disodium fumarate as an animal feed additive. Compared with the prior art, the rumen methane yield can be effectively reduced, the rumen fermentation function can be regulated and controlled, and the metabolic end products of the glycerol trinitrate in the rumen are propionic acid and ammonia which are non-toxic and can be utilized by animals. The production process of the glycerol trinitrate is mature, production facilities are simple, and rapid large-scale production can be realized to meet the requirement of carbon emission reduction in the cattle and sheep breeding industry in China.
