Abstract

The invention provides a particle sedimentation flow field measurement control device and a use method thereof. The device comprises a particle sedimentation control system, a particle motion tracking system and a PIV flow field measurement system. The particle settling control system comprises a settling vat, and a particle releasing frame and a power-losing type electromagnet are mounted at the upper part of the settling vat; the particle motion tracking system mainly comprises an electric slide rail, a programmable console and an L-shaped load plate mounted on the slide rail, and the L-shaped load plate can controllably move on the electric slide rail; the PIV flow field measurement system mainly comprises a laser device and a high-speed camera, and the laser device obtains the movement condition of tracer particles by illuminating a surface to be measured. The device is applied to multi-particle sedimentation experiment research, can ensure that initial motion states of particles are consistent, can greatly reduce errors caused by a large ratio of particle sedimentation velocity to surrounding fluid flow velocity and flow field splicing, and can finally complete capture of a surrounding fine flow field in a particle motion process.
