Abstract

A load transfer device (1) for transferring a payload (5) between an aircraft and the ground using an onboard crane, the load transfer device comprising: an upper lift (2) designed to be attached to a lifting cable (3); and a lower part (4) for supporting the payload and designed to be attached to the payload. According to the invention, the upper lift comprises a liquid tank (6) and an opening (7) for filling or emptying the liquid tank, and the lower part is detachably attached to the upper part by means of an attachment member (8) having a locked position, in which the upper part is attached to the lower part, and an unlocked position, in which the lower part is released.
