The method comprises the steps of obtaining at least one piece of fault information related to the drive-by-wire chassis based on working parameters of the drive-by-wire chassis; determining a hazard factor matched with the fault information, wherein the hazard factor is used for representing the occurrence probability and the hazard degree of the hazard event; based on the fault information related to the drive-by-wire chassis and the hazard factors matched with the fault information respectively, safety factors corresponding to the drive-by-wire chassis are obtained through calculation; and determining a target fault level corresponding to the drive-by-wire chassis according to the safety factor, and generating drive-by-wire chassis control information matched with the target fault level, thereby automatically performing level division on the current overall fault, and automatically executing different processing strategies for different fault levels. By adopting the method, the harm caused by the fault can be effectively evaluated, the fault can be accurately handled, and the potential safety hazard can be eliminated.
