[0019] Referring now to the drawings, wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout the various views, the garage door roller system of the present invention is generally indicated at 10 . As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3 , each roller system 10 includes a roller 12 rotatably mounted on a race 14 of a shaft 16 . A plurality of roller systems 10 are mounted on the inner surface 18 of the garage door 20 along each side such that the raceways of the axles extend outside of each side 22 of the door 20 and the position of each roller 12 is away from the door. The sides 22 of 20 are substantially equidistant from each other. The rollers 12 on each side of the garage door 20 are in rolling engagement with and are supported by one of a pair of fixed L-shaped guides 24 . The L-shape of the L-shaped guide allows the door 20 to move upwardly from a substantially vertical closed position to a substantially horizontal open position.
