Abstract

The vehicle body has a crash box (8) mounted in or under the hinge unit (1) of the front bonnet. The crash box is stable yet plastically deforms above a certain crash load to reduce risk of injury with pedestrian etc. The crash box has at least two support walls (11, 12) arranged parallel to force direction.
