Embodiment Construction

[0022] Attached figure 1 A transmission system according to the present invention is shown in Fig. 3, which includes a source entity 1, a target entity 2 and a transmission network 3. The source entity includes a memory 11 containing files 12. File 12 is a continuous file containing the highest version VM(O) of object O.

[0023] A continuous file is a file composed of several parts. The first part gives the first version of the target, and each of the following parts allows obtaining a more complete version of the same target.

[0024] As an example, the image coding format JPEG2000 (ISO / IEC FCD15444-1 standard) is a continuous format. The JPEG2000 standard provides the use of four basic program sequences: through resolution, through quality, through spatial location, and through components. JPEG2000 also provides five combinations of these basic schemes. Each sequence scheme corresponds to a specific method of arranging the data in the JPEG2000 bitstream. For example, if an obj...

Abstract

The invention provides a system for transferring an object from a source entity to a target entity, wherein: the source entity comprises: - storage means for storing at least one consecutive file consisting of several parts and containing the highest version of an object, - storage means for storing at least one electronic file describing a page to be displayed on the screen, said file having an access point (an inclusion or a link) specifying said continuous file, said access point specifying at least one or more portions of said continuous document corresponding to at least one version of said object, and means for transmitting said electronic document to a target entity, and means for transmitting the entire continuous document or a portion thereof , said target entity comprises: - means for receiving and translating said electronic document, - and means for sending a request to said source entity, wherein in order to transmit said One or more portions of a contiguous file, the request specifying one or more portions of the contiguous file obtained from reading the access point.

Description

Technical field [0001] The present invention relates to a method for transferring a target from a source entity to a target entity, including the step of sending a request from the target entity to the source entity, wherein the request specifies a continuous file containing the highest version of the target One or more parts, and a step of transferring one or more parts of the continuous file from the source entity to the target entity. [0002] The invention also relates to a computer program including instructions for implementing such a transfer method. [0003] The invention also relates to a transmission system including a source entity and a target entity that can implement this method. It also involves such a source entity, such as a server, and such a target entity, such as consumer electronic devices. [0004] The present invention also relates to an electronic file describing at least one page to be displayed on the screen of an electronic device. The file has at least ...
