Embodiment Construction

[0013] In the following text, the present invention will refer to figure 1 Described further.

[0014] The principles of the main methods of folder operation are well known to those of ordinary skill in the art and are therefore not described in detail. At this point, it should be noted that for the sake of completeness, a folder 10 for a printing press generally includes a crease former 11 , a cutter cylinder 12 , a folding blade cylinder 13 , a folding jaw cylinder 14 and a gripper cylinder 15 . The printed material 16 is moved or guided through the folder 10 and a first longitudinal crease known as the first longitudinal fold is produced in the crease former 11 and a first transverse crease known as the region between the folding blade cylinder 13 and the folding jaw cylinder 14 formed within. In the exemplary embodiment shown, a second transverse fold is formed between the folding jaw cylinder 14 and the gripper cylinder 15 . A folding station (not shown) may be arrange...

Abstract

A method and apparatus for controlling or regulating a folder of a printing press is disclosed. Setpoint fold values are generated on the basis of prepress stage data and printed copies are measured in the folded and / or partially folded state in order to determine actual fold values. The actual fold values which are determined in the process are compared with the corresponding setpoint fold values and, as a function of this comparison, the folder is set automatically in such a way that the actual fold values correspond to or are approximated to the setpoint fold values in subsequent printed copies.

Description

technical field [0001] The invention relates to a method for controlling or adjusting a folder of a printing press according to the preamble of claim 1 . Furthermore, the invention relates to a printing machine with a folder according to the preamble of claim 9 . Background technique [0002] The folder of the printing machine is used to form creases on the printed printed material. According to the prior art, the printed material in the form of a roll is first guided through a crease former known as crease forming. A longitudinal crease is formed on a roll-shaped printing material. From the crease former, the web-shaped printed material is conveyed via a plurality of pull rollers in the direction of the cutter cylinder and the folding blade cylinder interacting with the cutter cylinder, replica of the movement in the direction of the folding jaw cylinder Slits are cut from roll-shaped printed material on a cut-off blade cylinder with the help of a folding blade cylinder. ...
