Abstract

The invention provides a rotating electric machine enabling a user to accurately set a clearance between a field magnet of a rotor and a stator with simple work. The rotating electric machine (20) includes the rotor (21) which is mounted to a flywheel (56) so as to be unrotatable around the axis relative to the flywheel (56) rotatable around the axis of a crankshaft (51), and the stator (30) arranged oppositely to the rotor (21) and mounted to a case cover (19) so as to be unrotatable around the axis relative to the case cover (19). Either of the rotor (21) and the stator (30) is mounted to the flywheel (56) or the case cover (19), to which either of the rotor (21) and the stator (30) is mounted so as to be axially unmovable. Either the other of the rotor (21) and the stator (30) is mounted to the flywheel (56) or the case cover (19) so as to be axially movable. The stator (30) is provided with a support for supporting the rotor (21) so as to make the clearance between the stator (30) and the rotor (21) constant.
