Embodiment Construction

[0028] Preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the accompanying drawings. In the following description, well-known functions or constructions are not described in detail since it would obscure the invention in unnecessary detail.

[0029] The present invention provides an apparatus and method for simultaneously receiving data signals from two base stations with two adjacent FAs in a cellular environment with a frequency reuse factor of N. In the following description, the bandwidth occupied by the MS transmitting the maximum amount of information in the cellular environment is referred to as "FA bandwidth". Also, MS and BS are assumed to occupy the same bandwidth.

[0030] image 3 is a schematic diagram illustrating a scheme for simultaneously receiving data signals from two base stations with adjacent FAs according to the present invention.

Abstract

Provided is an apparatus and method for simultaneously receiving data signals of two adjacent frequency allocation (FA) in a cellular environment. When there is another base station using an adjacent FA to an FA of the base station, a subcarrier mapper maps control information to subcarriers of predetermined sections such that a mobile station simultaneously receives data signals of the adjacent FAs. An inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) processor IFFT-processes data mapped to the subcarriers. Because two different BSs transmit the same data through independent paths, the mobile station can obtain a macro diversity gain. Also, it is possible to balance the loads of the two BSs.

Description

technical field [0001] The present invention generally relates to a method and apparatus for receiving data signals of two adjacent frequency assignments (FA) in a cellular environment, and more particularly to a method and apparatus for supporting a mobile station (MS) in a cellular environment with a frequency reuse factor of N Method and apparatus for simultaneously receiving frame structures of data signals from two base stations (BSs) with adjacent FAs. Background technique [0002] Proposals have been made for cellular communication systems to overcome service area and user capacity limitations. In a cellular communication system, a service area is divided into a number of sub-areas (ie cells). Two cells using the same FA are spatially separated from each other by a sufficient distance so that frequency resources can be spatially reused. Therefore, a cellular communication system can accommodate a large number of users by increasing the number of spatially distribute...
