Embodiment Construction

[0021]Referring to FIG. 1, a turkey game call striker 10 and striker plate 40 are provided. The turkey call striker 10 includes an elongated striker shaft 12, a compression fitting 18, a first body portion 20 and a second body portion 22. The striker shaft 12 includes a first end 14 and an opposite second end 16. The compression fitting 18 is positioned on the striker shaft 12, and the first body portion 20 and second body portion 22 are positioned about the compression fitting 18 on the striker shaft 12. In a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the compression fitting 18 is adapted to be moveable along the striker shaft 12 between the first end 14 and the second end 16 when the first body portion 20 and the second body portion 22 are loosened about the compression fitting 18. The movability of the compression fitting 18 is accomplished by having a fitting with a discontinuous cross-section, as will be discussed below.

Abstract

A turkey call striker is provided for producing sounds suitable to a hunter in hunting turkeys. The turkey call striker includes a striker shaft, a compression fitting, a first body, and a second body. The compression fitting is moveable along the shaft and the first and second bodies secure the compression fitting to the shaft. The location of the compression fitting and corresponding members determines the sound produced from the turkey call striker when struck across a striker plate.
