This invention discloses a method for producing crop cultivation substrate using sugarcane filter mud and sugarcane pith as main raw materials, comprising the following steps: (1) dissolving and diluting 4,5-dihydro-4,5-dioxo-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-f]quinoline-2,7,9-tricarboxylic acid in water to obtain a solution; (2) mixing sugarcane slurry, sugarcane pith, the 4,5-dihydro-4,5-dioxo-1H-pyrrolo[2,3-f]quinoline-2,7,9-tricarboxylic acid solution, fermentation agent, and improver, adjusting the moisture content, and then composting and fermenting. The compost is turned over every few days and continuously composted and fermented for several days to obtain the crop cultivation substrate. The crop cultivation substrate produced by this invention is of excellent quality, allowing direct planting of plants without root burn.
