Abstract

A baffle for heat exchanger tubes extending between opposed headers. The deflector is a longitudinal element having a concave underside shape adapted to the convex peripheral shape of the heat exchanger tubes and has a length approximately equal to the distance between the headers. There is a convex topside shaped flange corresponding to the concave underside shape of said longitudinal element, the flange extending along a longitudinal edge of said longitudinal element. Two such longitudinal elements are nested together by overlaying the non-flange longitudinal edge of one longitudinal element over the flanged longitudinal edge of the other longitudinal element. A plurality of longitudinally aligned heat extraction slots extend substantially the entire length of the longitudinal member.
