Abstract

A mathematical model for a metallurgical plant and an optimization method for operating a metallurgical plant (6) using the mathematical model (4). A plurality of trains (7-12) of the metallurgical plant (6) are modeled by means of said model, and media flows to and from the trains are configured. In order to optimize the operation of the plant ( 6 ), structural parameters are predetermined by the user ( 5 ) for the optimization computer ( 1 ) and transferred from the optimization computer to the model ( 4 ). This structural parameter determines at least the number and type of said aggregates (7-12). According to the initial parameters describing the initial state of the unit (7-12) and the judgment standard (K), the optimization computer (1) determines the optimized operating parameters according to the optimization algorithm (A) under the condition of using the model (4) .
