[0025] A preferred embodiment relates to a method for retransmitting lost audio data in a push to communicate (PTx) communication network. In a PTx communication network, a sending communication device can unicast or multicast audio data to one or more devices in the network. After pressing the PTx key of the PTx communication device, the user can input audio data. The incoming audio data is temporarily stored so that the stored data can be retransmitted in case the first transmission is not successful.
